Zoning

Museum Place is covered by Fort Worth’s MU-2 zoning which encourages medium-density mixed-use. Mixed-use zoning promotes compact, pedestrian-oriented, urban development in which a blend of residential and commercial uses occupy the same building, site or district. In addition to MU-2 zoning, Museum Place is located in the West 7th Street Urban Village, a specially designated area within the City of Fort Worth where urban, center-city redevelopment is encouraged. The combination of the urban village designation and the MU-2 zoning allows Museum Place to be a vibrant, compact, mixed-use development that:

  • helps to reduce the frequency and distance of car trips
  • fosters a safe, active pedestrian environment
  • provides residential and employment density to support public transportation and neighborhood businesses
  • attracts residents and employers looking for urban amenities, and
  • creates an attractive, active and exciting environment for Cultural District visitors and Fort Worth residents alike.
