Museum Place Honored By Dallas Business Journal

Museum Place Development Group (MPDG) has announced that the Dallas Business Journal has selected the development as one of the “Best New Mixed-Use Developments” in Dallas/Fort Worth. The recognition came as part of the publication’s annual “Best Real Estate Deals of the Year Awards” published in the Feb. 23 – March 1, 2007 edition.

“We are honored to be selected by the Dallas Business Journal one of the best real estate deals of the year,” said Richard F. Garvey, Museum Place Development Group president and co-developer. “Recognition by this leading industry publication reinforces our belief in the positive impact that Museum Place development will have on the Metroplex.”

The 15th Annual Best Real Estate Deals of the Year Awards were held by the Dallas Business Journal on Feb. 22, 2007 and recognized the Metroplex’s best commercial real estate deals of 2006. Museum Place was chosen as one of three finalists for the “Best New Mixed-Use Development” category.

“From an awards contest perspective, it definitely was the best year ever – we had more than 400 nominations,” said Huntley Paton, publisher of Dallas Business Journal. “That also made this the toughest, most competitive year for Best Real Estate Deals.”

Encompassing 11 acres, Museum Place will include 173,000 square feet of specialty retail and dining, 130,000 square feet of class A office space, 550,000 square feet of residential development, with approximately 500 units, and an upscale boutique hotel. Museum Place is the redevelopment of several existing central city blocks that were once a thriving commercial and residential neighborhood.

When complete, Museum Place will be a pedestrian-friendly urban development, with public plazas, open spaces, abundant on-street parking and wide, tree-lined sidewalks. Exciting retail, multiple restaurants and a boutique hotel will help generate a lively street scene. Museum Place Development Group, Ltd., developer of the project, is an affiliate of JaGee Holdings, LLP, a Fort Worth company that owns and manages more than one million square feet of retail and industrial real estate and TLCurban, a Fort Worth-based development company, developer of The Tower and Chase Building in Fort Worth.
